Got candy? Peek-a-boo box

Did you see the A Muse News Blog on Friday? There are lots of very cute Halloween treat container ideas on there. Clever, clever... and you still have a month to get yours done for Halloween. One of my dear friends gives her co-workers something treat-y every holiday so she and I have been discussing different things to do. She has to give to 30 people and I have to give to 49 (teachers and kids!). We have an idea for this year and I'm almost done with all 49 of mine... more about that closer to Halloween!

Let's talk about this box. I've had the pattern for a year now. The pattern was designed by Brenda Quintana, aka QBee on SCS. Her box was also featured on the Scor-pal newsletter earlier this year. I use the scor-pal version...she also has the version that you can print onto your cardstock and cut out.

But doesn't the A Muse Kitchen Paper work well for this? I just love that it's all Halloweeney and yet still simple and clean!

So here is the inside...

I would only mass produce this box using the scor-pal, I think. But then again, I like "numbers". I had tried this pattern before I had a scor-pal and it seemed harder to do. I think I tried the copy it onto my cardstock and just fold and cut where noted...that method was TOO LOOSEY GOOSEY for this engineer-type. Ahem.

Back to School with supplies

Jenn's assignment for the newsletter this week was to create a card using any of the A Muse school supply images. We all seemed to pick the stack of books image as at least one of our stamps! The day I made this card, I was into trying different ways to put ribbons on your card. I also made some class samples that day and those too had different ribbon tying layouts.

Anyway, I thought this would make a nice card for the teacher or for the librarian at my son's school.

Fall colors? What are those?

Texas doesn't really have Fall nor do we have Spring. Well, we have about a week of NICE temperatures during those "seasons". The upside is that our winters are relatively nice. The summers get HOT (like today...) but thankfully someone a long time ago invented air conditioning!

Right. Focus. Jenn, aka creative chick, tasked us with a "Fall Colors" themed card for the back-to-school newsletter feature on the A Muse blog. So, here is the card I made...

One of my best friends made this birthday card for me and I think that was my inspiration for this card. I had this idea for the school bus driving up, dropping off, and then driving away... I'm just not sure if the kids are saying "Hip, Hip, Hooray!" or the moms are ;)... Actually, I'm sure in my case, my son (although he says he doesn't want to go back) will be very happy to have structure (he's one of those AR kind of kids...wonder where he gets that from?) and see all his friends. His summer wasn't exactly what I planned for him. Poor guy. I know this fall (only TWO weeks away for school starting here!) I won't be one of those moms saying "hip, hip, hooray!" (I have in the past, when he was in preschool, believe me!).

Leafy Tree in a Back-to-school style!

Jenn Shurkus is heading up one of the A Muse newsletter assignments this month called "Back to School". Speaking of the newsletter... have you seen the new look of the A Muse News blog? Oh my, take a gander. And some of the newsletter features are now directly on that blog! LOVE IT. Very clean, very crisp. Back to Jenn... her assignment for the newsletter last week was to use "Leafy Tree in a back-to-school style". At first, I had no idea what that meant. So, I stared at leafy tree for a while. And then brought out my school bus stamp (because that screams "back-to-school" to me... LIKE IN THREE WEEKS! EGADS!). Well, this is what I came up with. Maybe you saw it on the new blog?!!!

I got a bit caught up in coloring the house there. But it was fun! And the grass, too. I just LOVE my Copics.
