Doggie sympathy

Pets are such an important part of our lives. It's so hard when we lose one. Took us a while after we lost our last dog in July 2020. She lived to be 17 and was such a sweetie.
One of my friends lost their puppy this weekend and I sent this card.
Found this embossing folder (used in the background) in my stash from circa 2009. It's amazing I remembered how to use it.
See the paw print on the envelope. I'm working on adding something to the envelopes. I forget most of the time but I do think it adds something.

A long way back.

I have always had a love for paper and stationery. While I always kept some sort of memory book, even as a child, I was introduced to the world of scrapbooking in the mid 90s. I loved it so much. In the mid 2000s, I went to my first card-making home party. Oh my goodness! It was like scrapbooking but with a much quicker end-result timeframe. Free time was really precious then and still is now and having the instant gratification of finishing something in one sitting was incredible! A year or two into card-making, I became a demonstrator for Stampin' Up and a few months later, an instructor with A Muse Stamps, a stamp company out of Seattle. What I really enjoyed with both of these endeavors, was teaching. I loved to learn new things and then teach them to others. I was fortunate enough to teach classes all over the state of Texas! I met so many wonderful and talented people and many are to this day my friends - all that shared the same passion I have with paper and ink and creating.  I quickly learned that I didn't want to "sell" anymore and quit the SU! business and concentrated on just the teaching. The stamp stores in Texas were thriving.

And then somewhere around 2011, they weren't. As many of them closed down, I stopped teaching and got back to life with my family and put card making on hold.

Fast forward to 2021... when I said "I'm going to make my holiday cards this year". Bought all the stuff to make my Holiday Cards in November 2021 and then quickly ran out of time to do that for December 2021.

Oops.

Reset. Again.

2022 will be the year! Planning. This time I had a plan and started the plan early and it needed to be done in several steps to make out for the holidays in 2022.

I did it! And that was all it took to get me back in.

January 2023 New Year's Resolution - Create more cards AND send them. Let's see if *this* new year's resolution can stick.

P.S. For reference (mostly for myself)... In the past, I had two blogs...  first at blogspot and second at typepad but that one is defunct since it was a pay service.
